The players were promptly transported to a safe location, while the club’s management is cooperating with the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service to investigate the incident.
RTU’s humiliating defeat has compounded their woes, as the club is already under investigation by the Ghana Football Association for allegedly fielding unqualified players in the match against Dreams FC on Wednesday, June 12.
The GFA’s disciplinary committee has initiated a probe into the allegations, which could result in severe sanctions for the club.
