“Seth Binzer, after struggling with addiction and Crazy Town’s rapid success with ‘Butterfly,’ never was able to reach out on a more successful level to deal with his addictions. We all tried, but ultimately we all failed, or Shifty would still be here,” Hubberman stated.

Who Was Shifty Shellshock?

Born on August 23, 1974, Seth Brooks Binzer, better known by his stage name Shifty Shellshock, was an American rapper, singer-songwriter, and vocalist. He co-founded and fronted the rap-rock band Crazy Town, best known for their 2000 hit song “Butterfly.” Despite his success with Crazy Town, Binzer struggled to maintain his career and personal life due to his ongoing battle with addiction.

Binzer’s struggles with addiction were not just private; he appeared on reality television series like “Celebrity Rehab” and “Sober House,” where he openly discussed his challenges and attempts at recovery.

Circumstances of His Death

Law enforcement officials who responded to Binzer’s residence on Monday, June 24, found drug paraphernalia and a lighter near his body, leading to suspicions of an overdose.
