T.I. was apprehended due to an outstanding warrant for a different Clifford Harris, who is wanted in Maryland on charges involving violence against a woman, including stalking and possible possession of a firearm.

The warrant led to the temporary detention of the well-known artist as he was making his way through the busy Atlanta airport.

The arrest quickly gained media attention, with TMZ breaking the news. T.I.’s attorney, Steve Sadow, confirmed that his client was mistakenly identified and subsequently booked into the Clayton County Jail.

Steve Sadow provided a statement following T.I.’s release, emphasizing the error and the prompt resolution. “It was a clear case of mistaken identity,” Sadow stated. “The authorities acted on an incorrect assumption, but we appreciate their quick action in rectifying the situation once the mistake was identified.”

T.I., a prominent figure in the music industry, has faced legal issues in the past, but this incident was unrelated to his previous encounters with the law. Fans and supporters expressed relief at his swift release, taking to social media to voice their support and dismay over the mix-up.

As of now, there has been no further comment from T.I. himself regarding the incident. The authorities in Maryland are continuing their search for the other Clifford Harris, who remains at large.

The rapper, known for hits like “Whatever You Like” and “Live Your Life,” is expected to continue his professional engagements without further interruptions.
