He pitched for six different teams in Major League Baseball over the course of 22 seasons, mainly for the Seattle Mariners and Arizona Diamondbacks.

Nearly 16 years later, after winning his 300th match, he presented Lisa with the game ball as a fitting tribute to the companion who had been at his side during those victories.
