It wasn’t until 1975 that Randy officially became part of The Jacksons, stepping in to replace his brother Jermaine. With his addition, the group evolved, transitioning from Motown to CBS Records and rebranding themselves as The Jacksons. Randy’s influence on the band’s sound was profound, notably co-writing their hit single “Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground)” with his brother Michael.

Following the disbandment of The Jacksons in 1990, Randy embarked on various musical endeavours. He formed his band, Randy & the Gypsys, and later ventured into entrepreneurship, co-founding Total Multimedia Inc. to develop innovative data compression techniques for CD-ROMs. In 1998, Randy ventured into the realm of record labels, establishing Modern Records as a platform to nurture emerging talent.
