The news was confirmed on Saturday by Lillis’ sister, Laurie Orr, through a GoFundMe page initially created to help with medical expenses after Lillis was diagnosed with cancer.

The fundraising effort has accumulated about $97,000 as of Monday, with remaining donations set to cover any outstanding medical bills, a memorial service, and contributions towards cancer research in Lillis’ name.

In her update, Orr expressed grief over her sister’s unexpected decline, asking for privacy as the family mourns their loss.

Veronica Taylor, who voiced Ash Ketchum in Pokémon, shared her condolences on Instagram. Taylor noted that Lillis’ voice work was a staple of many viewers’ Saturday mornings and after-school hours.

In addition to her iconic roles in Pokémon, Lillis’ career spanned over 100 voice acting credits.

She voiced notable characters such as Faragonda and Lucy in “Winx Club,” Danny in “Sonic X,” and Princess Charlotte in the English dub of “Berserk.” Her final credit was in the 2019 animated web series “Ollie & Scoops.”
