Liechtenstein and the Princely House are in mourning as they bid farewell to Prince Constantin von und zu Liechtenstein, a distinguished member of both the royal family and the business community. Constantin’s unexpected demise at the age of 51 on December 5, 2023, has left a void that will be felt by both his family and the nation he served.

Prince Constantin, the youngest son of Prince Hans-Adam II, leaves behind a legacy of service to Liechtenstein and a family grieving his untimely departure. In a statement released by the Princely House, the family shared the somber news with the principality and the world: “The Princely House regrets to announce that H.S.H. Prince Constantin von und zu Liechtenstein passed away unexpectedly on 5 December 2023.”

His wife, Princess Marie of Liechtenstein, née Countess Kálnoky of Kőröspatak, and their children, Prince Moritz, Princess Georgina, and Prince Benedikt, now grapple with the void left by his departure. The family’s grief is shared by the entire nation, mourning the loss of a beloved prince.

In addition to his royal duties, Prince Constantin was actively involved in the business world, serving with dedication and commitment. He worked for the Liechtenstein Group from 2020 until his passing, contributing his expertise and leadership to the organization.

His roles extended beyond the business sector, including serving as the chairman of the board of directors of Rice Tec AG and as a member of the advisory council of LGT Austria. Notably, he was also a member of the L-GAM Investment Committee.

Prince Constantin’s commitment to sustainability was evident in his role as a member of the Austrian Council for Sustainable Development in Vienna. In this capacity, he worked towards the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. His efforts aimed to concretize and visualize sustainability while supporting and accelerating corresponding activities across various sectors.

As Liechtenstein reflects on the life and contributions of Prince Constantin, the Princely House, his family, and the nation unite in grief. The cause of his death is yet to be disclosed, adding an element of mystery to the departure of a respected figure who left an indelible mark on both Liechtenstein and the business world.
