This comes amidst growing concerns about the consequences of such actions, especially after the recent six-month jail sentence handed to crossdresser Bobrisky.

Portable, who once boasted of giving nearly N2 million daily to his followers, expressed regret during a live chat, emphasizing that his intention was to spread kindness.

However, fearing the repercussions, he appealed for forgiveness from both the government and the EFCC.

In a significant shift, Portable announced his decision to cease spraying money, urging his supporters to open bank accounts instead, as he plans to make transfers going forward.

He emphasized his desire to abide by the law, stating, “I didn’t deface the Naira, I help a lot of people. After God na Government, Please forgive me if you have videos of me spraying money, no more spraying of money.”

This move signals a potential change in behavior among Nigerian celebrities known for public displays of wealth, as they become more cautious in light of legal consequences.

Portable’s decision reflects a growing awareness of the need to comply with anti-graft regulations while still supporting fans in more lawful ways.
