Police Clarify: VeryDarkMan Was Invited, Not Arrested

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has clarified that activist VeryDarkMan was not arrested but rather invited for questioning.

In a statement, command spokesperson Josephine Adeh explained that VeryDarkMan was invited on suspicions of internet stalking, cyberbullying, and character defamation.

“The FCT Police Command wishes to clarify that VeryDarkMan was not arrested by the police but was only invited for questioning on the allegations of cyberstalking, cyberbullying, and defamation of character,” Adeh stated.

Activist Deji Adeyanju had previously claimed that VeryDarkMan was arrested for allegedly exposing a Nigerian who had conned someone abroad, purportedly on the orders of FCT Police Commissioner Benneth Igweh.

“Our client, @thatverydarkman has just been arrested by the police on the instruction of CP Igwe for exposing someone who allegedly duped a Nigerian abroad.

Instead of the police to arrest the person alleged to have duped someone, they arrested VDM on allegation of defamation,” Adeyanju said.
