After spending last season on loan with Qatar’s Al-Duhail, Coutinho is not in Unai Emery’s plans and has been negotiating a move to his boyhood club, Vasco da Gama.
Brazilian journalist Lucas Pedrosa reports that advancements are being made, and an announcement is anticipated on July 3.

Initially, Vasco planned to secure Philippe Coutinho on a loan deal, but financial constraints led to discussions about terminating his Villa contract two years early for a free move.
However, recent updates suggest Philippe Coutinho will instead remain under contract with Villa and join Vasco on a one-year loan. Vasco aimed for an 18-month agreement, but this was not finalized.
They will have priority for his permanent signing or another loan next year.
The Brazilian transfer window opens on July 10, when Philippe Coutinho will officially become available to Vasco.
