Peggy who was 86 was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Mary Lucille Johnson Griffin and Homer Howard Griffin, Sr. She got married to Major Allen Bernard Jordan on October 10, 1953. Their marriage birthed 3 children: Leslie Allen and identical twin girls, Jana Lynn and Janet Ann.

Peggy received a 2-year degree in Medical Terminology at Chattanooga State (CSTCC) where she worked for Marshal Mize Ford in their office and in various medical settings as a Medical Secretary.

Peggy was actively involved in the former Central Baptist Church on McCallie Avenue and remained a member even when it was moved. An obituary stated May 24, 2022, as the day for her graveside service.
