The 25-year-old shot-stopper has inked a lucrative five-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain.
Matvey Safonov’s arrival is seen as crucial in providing competition for the club’s established first-choice goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, especially with Keylor Navas set to depart as his contract expires this summer.

“I’m really happy to be joining Paris Saint-Germain, one of the world’s biggest clubs in terms of its history and what it has won. I can’t wait to meet my new teammates, defend my new colors, and make the fans proud. Allez Paris!” Matvey Safonov expressed his excitement upon completing the move.
Matvey Safonov arrives with considerable experience, having made 175 appearances for Krasnodar and earned 14 caps for the Russian national team.
Like PSG, other teams are looking to bolster their team set-up in preparation to the coming season.
