The opening ceremony for the 2024 Paris Olympics will take place on Friday, July 26.

The ceremony is set to start at 10:30 a.m. PT / 1:30 p.m. ET and is expected to last approximately 4.5 hours.

You can watch the opening ceremony live on NBC, Peacock, and the NBC and NBC Olympic apps. All Olympic events will be streamed live throughout the Games on NBCOlympics.com, NBC.com, the NBC app, and the NBC Olympics app.

Highlights of the Ceremony

Unlike previous ceremonies held in stadiums, the Paris 2024 opening will feature athletes arriving by boat. They will cruise down the River Seine, passing iconic landmarks such as Notre-Dame and the Louvre, before ending near the Eiffel Tower at Trocadéro. French President Emmanuel Macron will deliver a speech, and the Olympic torch will be lit.

Duration of the Paris Olympics

The 2024 Paris Olympics will run from Friday, July 26, until Sunday, August 11, when the closing ceremony will conclude the Games.
