Pappy Kojo is an Italy based Ghanaian Hiphop / Hiplife Rapper and Music Recording Artist who hails from and was raised in Takoradi, the Western Region of Ghana. Pappy, whose real name is Jason Gaisie, was born on 13 February 1989 to parents Kofi Badu and Rosemond Gaisie. Pappy attended Ridge International School up until 2004, then went to Italy to be with his mother.

Pappy Kojo always had dreams of the stage since he was an infant. He would participate in locally organised rap shows where he would rap to Obrafour, Tic Tac, Reggie Rockstone, and Lord Kenya lyrics. His biggest musical influences are Obrafour, The Shady Aftermath Camp, and Michael Jackson. Pappy left Ghana for Italy in 2004, and even while away from the motherland, his love for rap music grew exponentially. Pappy Kojo’s talent began to raise eye brows when he began covering popular songs and posting them on his YouTube channel. It was not long after that he began recording his own material with Italian and Ghanaian music producers.

Pappy Kojo, AKA ‘Fante Vandamme’, as he is affectionately called rose to prominence in the Ghanaian music industry in 2014. Pappy who always had a knack for music and all the fame that comes with it was away in Italy, but had his heart and ears back home, until he was finally convinced by Ghanaian Rapper, Joey B to come home and make music together.
Pappy’s first official single, “Realer No”, also featuring Joey B turned out to be the turning point in his career, thereby leaving his footprints in the sands of time.
Pappy Kojo Awards and Nominations
Pappy Kojo was nominated three times at the 2015 Ghana Music Awards and won an award for the Hip-Hop Song of the year. The fante rapper has also been nominated for the Best Newcomer in Africa at the AFRIMMA Awards. In 2017 he won the Best Photography award at MTN 4syte Music Video Awards.

He has released three hit singles since: “Ay3 Late” ft. Sarkodie, “2 Raw” (with Edem) and “Deja Vu” (with Jiggy).
