Pamela Blair cause of death – Multitalented American entertainer Pamela Blair best known for originating the role of Val in the musical A Chorus line has died. Blair was born on December 5, 1949 and died in July 2023 at the age of 73. Blair’s death was announced on Sunday July 23, 2023. A cause of death was not stated.

Blair had the ‘Val role’ after being invited by Michael Bennett to participate in the workshops which birthed A Chorus Line.

The character “Valerie Clark”, shortened Val, which she played was largely based on her own life.

Val, despite her innocent looks had a very foul mouth and introduced the popular Broadway song “Dance: 10; Looks:3” which tells the story of an undesirable yet talented lady who uses plastic surgery to get movie roles.

Along with the cast, Blair won the 1976 Theatre World Award for their impressive performance.

Blair also starred as “Sugar Kane” in Sugar, the stage musical version of the film Some Like It Hot.

Blair also starred in several American soap operas, including Loving, Another World, Ryan’s Hope and All My Children.

Blair studied dance, played sports and dreamt of becoming a Radio City Rockette so as to meet her idols, The Beatles.

She attended The National Academy of Ballet, a private school based in New York.

Blair was not married at the time of her death. However, she was married to actor and film director Don Scardino from 1984 until their divorce in 1991, after 7 years of marriage.
