Afropop star Oxlade has stepped forward to assist a woman who was highlighted during recent nationwide protests against poor governance.

The protests, which began on August 1st under the banner #EndBadGovernance, saw many citizens take to the streets with signs criticizing the current administration.

One striking image from the protests showed a woman holding an empty pot, symbolizing her struggle with hunger and food scarcity.

The poignant photo quickly gained traction online, sparking widespread sympathy from the public. In response, Oxlade used his Twitter account to offer financial support.

He posted the woman’s picture and announced that he was ready to give her N500,000. His tweet read, “Someone please help me find this woman, I’ve got 500k for her.”

Oxlade, who is affiliated with Troniq Music, Epic Records in France, and Columbia Records in the UK, gained fame with his hit song “Away,” which was featured on Rolling Stone’s list of the 50 best songs of 2020. He was also named Pandora Africa’s Next Artist in July 2022.
