Osei Kwame Despite born Osei-Kwame is a level-headed businessman with a very good background in music production and broadcasting.

He was born on the 2nd February 1962 at Agona Wiamoase in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

Osei Kwame Despite’s educational background may look rich because he has an honorary degree from a British university but this is not a degree that Kwame attained based on merit or any other academic effort but because of his entrepreneurial efforts.

He started life as a petty trader, dealing in music cassettes, padlocks, feeding bottles, and other merchandise at Dunkwa-Offinso. After years of painful struggle in the village to make it in life, he joined other friends to seek greener pastures in Lagos, Nigeria.

He returned home to Ghana in 1983 with thousands of other Ghanaian refugees and started a timber lumbering business with a chain-saw he brought back until the machine was crushed by a falling tree.

Currently, Osei-Kwame is the owner of the Despite Company Ltd which is a trading company and with other ventures in the media industry; Peace FM which is the largest and the most popular FM station in Ghana, Okay FM station, Neat FM both in Accra, and Hello FM station in Kumasi.

He set-up NEAT FOODS LTD, which processes the local plantain, cocoyam, maize, and palm fruits into fast to cook foods such as Neat Fufu, which has become a preference to the traditional fufu.

He also owns a manufacturing company ANTONA FOODS LTD, producing the ever-popular THIS WAY chocolate drink, and a Salt mining company, U2 Salt, which is located at Winneba.

Dr. Osei-Kwame with a partner co-founded the United Television (UTV). He is also the co-founder and Vice-Chairman of Best Point Savings and Loans Ltd, a very renowned financial institution in the country.

Despite is currently married to Aunty Ewurama, who happens to be his second wife and we hear they’ve been married for 22 years now with 6 children.
