Gaal, 51, was discovered dead inside a bloody duffel bag on the side of the road, less than half a mile from her house in Forrest Hills, Queens, on Saturday, April 2022, at 8.11 a.m.

According to authorities, a blood trail that stretched for several blocks led them back to her Juno Street home. Gaal, a stay-at-home mother, resided in the house with her husband and two sons, aged 17 and 13, according to CBS New York.

Police questioned her 13-year-old son Leo, who is believed to have been at home at the time of her death, but he was released without charge. Howard Klein, Gaal’s equities advisor husband, and their oldest son Jamie were out of town visiting colleges at the time of her murder.
According to anonymous police sources, the killer who murdered married Queens mother Orsolya Gaal texted her husband afterwards, stating it was retaliation for her sending him to prison years before.
No arrests have been made as investigations are still ongoing.
