One notable achievement is Nigerian artist Omah Lay’s hit single “Soso,” which has recently been awarded platinum status in France by SNEP, the official certification body.
This recognition follows “Soso” surpassing 30 million streams in France.
Featured on Omah Lay’s debut album, *Boy Alone*, “Soso” has enjoyed impressive international success, amassing 186 million streams on Spotify and 142 million views on YouTube.

The remix, which includes a collaboration with Ozuna, also contributed to the single’s popularity, garnering over 20 million streams on Spotify.

Produced by Tempoe, “Soso” is Omah Lay’s most commercially successful track to date, adding to his impressive lineup of hits like “Damn,” “Understand,” “Reason,” and “Godly.” The latter track notably held the number one spot on the TurnTable Top 100 chart for 11 weeks.
The platinum certification of “Soso” highlights the growing influence of Afrobeats in France, joining other popular tracks that have achieved significant milestones.
This includes “On The Low” and “Last Last” by Burna Boy, “Rush” by Ayra Starr, “Kulosa” by Oxlade, “Love Nwantiti” by CKay, and “Calm Down” by Rema, all of which have received diamond certifications.
