Talented music star Omah Lay has opened up about his struggles in the music industry, revealing the deep sense of feeling unloved, particularly from the media and industry insiders.

In a candid interview with Amazon Music, the musician shared that despite having a strong support system from his fans, family, and team, he often feels a lack of love from those within the industry who are considered gatekeepers.
“This is something I’ve never talked about. I’m that artist that lives in a fantasy world. I just live in my head 90 percent of the time,” Omah Lay confessed, explaining how he copes with these feelings by retreating into his own thoughts and fantasies.

The artist also discussed the challenges he faces as a Nigerian, especially when traveling with a Nigerian passport. He highlighted the harsh treatment he often receives from immigration officers, which only changes when they recognize him as Omah Lay.
“Traveling, especially being a Nigerian and having the Nigerian passport, I have just seen the cruelty of the world so much,” he shared, underscoring the additional difficulties he encounters due to his nationality.
