Graphic Showbiz recently published a list of the 12 greatest rappers in Ghanaian history, celebrating the country’s rich rap heritage.
The list, released on June 27, was based on factors such as lyrical content, flow, storytelling, experience, language, cultural relevance, originality, vocal delivery, and wordplay.
The list includes Sarkodie, Obrafour, Okyeame Kwame, Okomfour Kwadee, Lord Kenya, Manifest, Tinny, Reggie Rockstone, Strongman, Eno Barony, Guru, and Amerado.
However, Okyeame Kwame, who was placed third, questioned the omission of rappers like EL, Edem, and Flowking Stone.

He suggested that the absence of these names indicated that the criteria might not have fully considered key aspects of rap, such as rhythm, Africanness, and poetry.
In an interview with ZionFelix, he expressed his confusion, asking if the list was based on popularity, influence, or true rapping skills.
He emphasized that when discussing the best rappers in Ghana, EL, Flowking Stone, and Edem should not be left out.
Okyeame Kwame also mentioned that Ghana has many other talented rappers, such as Omar Sterling, Lyrical Joe, Ponobiom, and Medikal, who also deserve recognition.
