In a focused effort to expedite the clearance of essential health commodities funded by the Global Fund, Minister of Health Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye met with the Ministry of Finance and the Ghana Revenue Authority regarding processes at Tema Port.

This follows the Ministry of Health’s receipt of GHC7,429,694.39 from the Ministry of Finance to cover demurrage and third-party charges, ensuring the clearance of all pending Global Fund containers by the end of June 2024.

Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye emphasized his personal commitment to resolving the issue during a project inspection visit to La General Hospital and Weija Children’s Hospital.
A meeting on June 14 with the Ministry of Finance and the Ghana Revenue Authority confirmed the expedited clearance to ensure timely delivery of vital health supplies.
