The incident, which took place in the Ashanti Region, also involved significant vandalism of the church property.

According to the Obuasi Police, the motivation behind the attack remains unclear. Pastor Maxwell Amoako recounted that about seventy youths, armed with cutlasses, sticks, and hammers, stormed the church premises.

They proceeded to destroy plastic chairs and church windows without any apparent provocation.

Pastor Amoako reported the incident to the Obuasi Divisional Operation Patrol team, which was dispatched to the scene.

However, the assailants had fled by the time the police arrived. Later that day, when Pastor Amoako returned to the church, the same group of youths attacked him again, stabbing his right arm and assaulting his junior pastors.

Despite efforts by the police to apprehend the culprits, the youths managed to escape before their arrival. The injured pastor was given medical forms to seek treatment for his stab wound.

The Obuasi Police continue to search for the individuals responsible for the attack and the vandalism of the church property.
