Noah Lyles’ mom, Keisha Caine Bishop, was overwhelmed with emotion after her son’s historic gold medal in the men’s 100m sprint. Lyles won the hotly-contested race by just 0.005 seconds, finishing with a time of 9.79 seconds.

After his victory, Noah Lyles sprinted to his family, sharing a heartwarming embrace with his mom. “You did it. Oh my god, you’re so amazing,” Keisha tearfully told him. “Oh my god, you’re so blessed, I’m so proud of you.”

Noah Lyles also hugged his girlfriend, Junelle Bromfield, and sister, Abby, before continuing his celebration on the track.

His narrow win over Jamaica’s Kishane Thompson, who took silver, and fellow American Fred Kerley, who claimed bronze, marked a significant achievement.
