His main gripe revolves around persistent network issues hampering the registration process.

Speaking on the Big Issues with Selorm Adonoo, the former Sports Minister argued vehemently that most Ghanaians would find it challenging to rate the EC’s performance above 30%, considering their responsibilities outlined by the law.

He emphasized that the EC had attempted to bypass legal procedures to push its agenda, particularly in the matter of using only the national ID for registration, despite objections from the minority in parliament.

Nii Lante Vanderpuye highlighted instances where, in his view, the EC tried to circumvent the law. He cited the example of the registration exercise, where the EC sought to prioritize the national ID despite opposition.

He pointed out that the EC’s failure to push through its Constitutional Instrument (CI) prevented this, thwarting what he saw as an attempt to defy the consensus of Ghanaians.
