Nigerian singer Tems has shared her thoughts on how her music is perceived by her fellow Nigerians.

In a recent interview, she was asked if Nigerians understand and appreciate her music. Tems believes that while Nigerians may not fully grasp the depth of her music, she does feel valued by them on a personal level.
She said she isn’t sure if her music is appreciated, but she feels personally appreciated by Nigerians.
In 2024, Tems announced that her debut studio album, “Born in the Wild,” will be released on June 7th. To promote the album, she will also embark on the Born in the Wild World Tour.

Tems has achieved significant recognition in her career. She has won numerous awards, including a Grammy, a Billboard Women in Music Award, four NAACP Image Awards, three BET Awards, and three Soul Train Music Awards.
Her talent and unique sound have clearly resonated with audiences around the world, even if she feels her music is not fully understood at home.
