In a YouTube video message, Choppenson revealed that he had worked on approximately 13 music videos for Shatta Wale, including popular hits like ‘Taking Over’ and ‘Ayoo’, which gained international acclaim and even led to a collaboration with Beyoncé.

Despite agreeing on a fee of 30,000 cedis for his services, Choppenson claimed that Shatta Wale had promised him 50,000 cedis and even mentioned buying him a car.

“I was happy. I gathered everything, rented equipment, and put my crew together. I shot the video for Wale with assurances that he would pay me,” Choppenson recounted. However, days passed without receiving any payment, and attempts to contact Shatta Wale were reportedly ignored.

“I went to his house, but they refused to let me see him,” Choppenson continued, expressing frustration over not receiving compensation for his work.

The director emphasized that despite his experiences, he holds no ill will towards Ghanaian artists in general, describing them as “amazing people” and stating that he prefers to focus on his work without seeking trouble.

As of now, Shatta Wale has not publicly responded to these allegations.
