Despite winning the 100m title at the Olympic trials in Benin and securing her place on the team, Ofili will not be competing in Paris.
According to Ofili, the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), the Nigerian Olympic Committee (NOC), and the National Anti-Doping Committee (NADC) failed to register her for the event, costing her a chance to compete.
The athlete expressed her disappointment, highlighting that she had trained for four years to reach this level.

In her statement, Ofili criticized the AFN for mishandling her Olympic journey, stating, “I am deeply disappointed to learn that I won’t be competing in the 100 meters.
Despite qualifying, those responsible at AFN and NOC did not enter my name. I have invested years of hard work, only to be let down by these organizations.”
Ofili also recalled her previous Olympic experience, where a lack of funding from the AFN, NADC, and NOC led to the disqualification of 14 Nigerian athletes due to inadequate testing.
She urged accountability from these bodies, stating that if they are not held responsible, they cannot be trusted for future events. Ofili hopes to be entered for the 200 meters, the next event she is targeting.
