This joint effort aims to ensure that the media space remains free from harmful content that could negatively impact viewers. Shaibu Husseini, the newly appointed CEO of NFVCB, recently visited the EFCC’s Executive Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, to discuss their shared mission.

During the meeting, Husseini expressed concerns about the portrayal of crimes and get-rich-quick schemes in movies and internet skits. He emphasized the need for public awareness campaigns to address these issues.

The NFVCB intends to address this issue by collaborating with scriptwriters, producers, and skit makers to promote responsible content creation.

The NFVCB plans to kick off its efforts with a Public Service Announcement (PSA) in partnership with the EFCC. This educational campaign will raise awareness about the implications of media content on society.

They will also engage filmmakers and skit makers through seminars and conferences to discuss the societal impact of their work. By engaging filmmakers and skit creators through these media, they aim to foster a more responsible approach to storytelling.

Olukoyede commended the NFVCB’s commitment to eliminating unwholesome video content, and emphasized the importance of accurate portrayals in films and videos, as they greatly shape public perceptions and behavior.

Olukoyede acknowledged the importance of their collaboration and promised the full support of the commission. He also expressed hope that this partnership would correct the inaccurate portrayal of the EFCC and its officers in various skits.
