Sandro Tonali, the midfielder for Newcastle United, finds himself in hot water once again as England’s Football Association (FA) has charged him with misconduct for allegedly breaking their betting rules.

The FA alleges that Tonali breached Rule E8 by placing bets on football matches on 50 occasions between August 12 and October 12, 2023.
This accusation follows a previous 10-month ban imposed by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) for similar betting offenses while he was playing for AC Milan in Italy.

Tonali has until April 4, 2024, to respond to these charges. While Newcastle United has acknowledged the FA charge, they continue to support Tonali and state that he is cooperating with the investigations.
This latest development adds to Tonali’s woes, as he is already serving a ban from FIGC, upheld by FIFA, preventing him from playing professionally until August 2024.
The new charges from the FA could lead to further disciplinary actions that may affect his future with Newcastle United.
