Newcastle United are reportedly eyeing a move for Barcelona winger Ferran Torres, who is a former player for Manchester City.

Newcastle United are looking to add more players to improve their squad depth as the seek to compete in the Premier League next season.

Early rumors revealed that Newcastle United submitted a bid of £12.8 million plus £4.2 million in potential add-ons for the young but Daily Telegraph journalist Luke Edwards has refuted the rumor, stating that Newcastle has not made any bid for Torres.

Luke stated: “”I’ve been told there is no truth in claims Newcastle have made a bid for Ferran Torres. Whether Torres is genuinely a target for Newcastle remains to be seen, but any potential deal would likely require a fee exceeding £30 million.”

Ferran Torres has been a good in recent times for Barcelona and the Spanish national team. He bagged 11 goals and provided four assists for Barcelona last season.
