Newcastle United Confirm Departure Of Graeme Carrick

Graeme Carrick, the 39-year-old, younger brother of Boro head coach Michael Carrick, has departed from his position as Newcastle United’s under-18s coach to join Middlesbrough’s first-team coaching staff.

Graeme Carrick had returned to Newcastle’s academy in 2022, where he previously served in coaching roles from 2005 to 2007.

During his recent tenure, Graeme Carrick guided the U18s to respective 12th and 8th place finishes in their league.

Before rejoining Newcastle, Graeme Carrick served for 15 years as a coach developer with the FA. Graeme Carrick’s move to Middlesbrough marks his first senior coaching role.

Newcastle United’s Academy Director, Steve Harper, praised Carrick’s contributions, stating, “I would like to thank Graeme for his excellent work in developing our young players both on and off the pitch. When a member of our staff moves on to first-team opportunities, whether here or elsewhere, we can all take pride in their achievements.”

Newcastle United are currently in search for a coach to fill this vacant position.
