In the podcast co-hosted by Rachel Johnson, two women accused Gaiman of engaging them in sadomasochistic acts and instructing them to address him as “master.”
Gaiman, 63, has refuted these claims, asserting that all sexual encounters with the women were consensual. One of the accusers, Scarlett, was briefly employed as a nanny by Gaiman’s then-wife, musician Amanda Palmer, in 2022.
Scarlett alleges that Gaiman assaulted her shortly after their first meeting, but Gaiman described their interaction as consensual “cuddling” and “making out.”
Scarlett further claimed that their subsequent sexual encounters were painful and violent, including an incident where Gaiman allegedly used a belt on her, causing her to lose consciousness.
Gaiman denies these allegations, stating that all activities were consensual and that Scarlett had expressed consent through messages even after their relationship ended.

The second woman, identified as K, met Gaiman as a fan at a book signing in Florida in 2003 when she was 18. Their relationship reportedly became sexual when she was 22.
K accused Gaiman of disregarding her refusal for penetrative intercourse during a trip to Cornwall in 2007 due to a medical condition. Gaiman refutes this claim.
Both women did not report Gaiman to the police at the time of the alleged incidents. Scarlett did file a report in October 2022, but New Zealand police did not proceed with an investigation.
Gaiman, known for his acclaimed works like “The Sandman” and “American Gods,” as well as children’s literature, emphasized his commitment to cooperating with authorities and addressing the allegations transparently.
Gaiman and Palmer separated in 2022 after discussing an open marriage arrangement publicly.
