Giovani Pellino, best known as Neffa is an Italian rapper, songwriter, composer and producer.
Giovani Pellino was born on October 7, 1967 in Scafati. However, at a very young age, Giovani Pellino together with his family moved to Bologna. Giovani Pellino began his music career as a drummer in several rock and punk bands with the most notable band being, Negazoine.

In 1991, Giovani Pellino joined Isola Posse All Stars, a hip hop ensemble and adopted the stage name, Neffa in honor of the Paraguayan footballer, Gustavo Neffa.

Neffa started his solo career in 1996 with the album I messageri della dopa. He released other albums and integrated several styles, including; soul, funky, pop, jazz and R&B.
Neffa had his major breakthrough in 2001 with the summer hit, ‘La mia signorina’ which earned him a nomination as best Italian act at the MTV Europe Music Awards.

In 2004, Neffa competed at the 54th edition of the Sanremo Music Festival and placed ninth with the song, ‘Le ore piccole’.
In 2007, Neffa won a Globo d’oro for best score, a Ciak d’oro for best original song (Passione) and a Nastro d’Argento after he composed the musical score of Ferzan Ozpetek’s Saturn in Opposition.
In 2010, Neffa started Due di Picche, a musical project with the rapper J-Ax and then in 2016, Neffa competed at the 66th edition of the Sanremo Music Festival with the song, Sogni e nostalgia.
