Nathan Joseph Hochman is an American lawyer running for District Attorney of Los Angeles County. Hochman was the United States Assistant Attorney General for the Tax Division of the United States Department of Justice in 2008.

President George W. Bush named Hochman to the position of United States Assistant Attorney General, where he oversaw the Department of Justice’s Tax Division. He was unanimously confirmed by the United States Senate on December 19, 2007.

As an Ethics Commissioner, Hochman spearheaded a proposal to provide monetary incentives to increase voter turnout in special elections in the City of Los Angeles. In 2014, he was the commission’s president.
