Napoli’s season concluded in a disappointing 10th place, as they failed to secure a spot in European competitions following a lackluster 0-0 draw against Lecce.

In their final match at Stadio Maradona, Napoli needed a victory and a Torino loss to climb to ninth place, which could have offered a chance at Conference League qualification, contingent on Fiorentina’s performance against Olympiacos.

Unfortunately, Napoli was without key players Mario Rui, Piotr Zielinski, and Leander Dendoncker, and their main striker Victor Osimhen was only able to make the bench.

Lecce, who were already safe from the threat of relegation, nearly scored early when Patrick Dorgu’s shot hit the post, narrowly missing a goal.

Throughout the game, Napoli’s Kvicha Kvaratskhelia made several attempts to score, but his efforts were either off target or blocked. Giovanni Simeone also missed a chance by shooting over the goal.

Lecce remained a constant threat, especially on counterattacks, with Berisha’s shot narrowly missing and Valentin Gendrey making a courageous block.

After halftime, Cyril Ngonge of Lecce forced a save from Napoli’s goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone. Falcone stayed alert, thwarting another attempt by Kvaratskhelia and witnessing a deflected shot from Jens Cajuste hit the post but not go in.

Napoli continued to seek a goal, with Giacomo Raspadori shooting over the goal and Federico Baschirotto saving a shot from Matias Olivera on the goal line.

The draw signaled the end of a challenging season for Napoli, a stark contrast to their previous season’s triumph when they won the Scudetto for the first time in over three decades.
