Ghanaian artiste manager, Nana Poku Ashis, has shared his disappointment regarding the ongoing family feud involving Gospel musician Yaw Sarpong of the group ‘Yaw Sarpong and Asomafo’, his wife Adwoa Penamang, and group member Maame Tiwaa.

The controversy unfolded during a live broadcast on Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM, where Adwoa Penamang accused Tiwaa of having an affair with her husband and assuming his care during his illness.
Tiwaa refuted these claims, asserting that she stepped in only after Adwoa declined to assist.
Speaking on Hitz FM on June 24, 2024, Nana Poku Ashis, who manages Yaw Sarpong, expressed his dismay, particularly towards Sarpong’s children.
He criticized their handling of the situation, given their education and awareness of social media’s impact.
“My disappointment is not with the wife but with the kids; they (the children) should have known better. This man has educated the two of you; can’t you use your common sense and know that this is going to harm your father?” he remarked.

Ashis also disclosed that Yaw Sarpong’s children had initially approached him to mediate the family dispute before it became public but were unable to resolve matters internally.
“When this whole matter started, Yaw Sarpong’s children called me to help resolve their issue, but I advised them that family matters should be handled by elders. They said the family heads were unwilling to listen to their concerns,” Ashis added.
He further questioned the decision to bring the family conflict into the public domain and addressed financial allegations made against Tiwaa, asserting that the children were managing Sarpong’s finances and mobile money transactions.
Yaw Sarpong, currently under the care of Prophet J.Y. Adu in Kumasi due to a year-long battle with stroke, continues to receive prayers and support from Ashis and the music community.
