Nadine Dorries Tennis: What did Nadine Dorries say about ‘downstreaming movies’ and ‘tennis pitches’?

The culture secretary, Nadine Dorries, says dyslexia caused her to mix up her words and suggests people downstream movies and play on tennis pitches.

She spoke in a Tik Tok posted by MP Dr Luke Evans as part of an ongoing series in which he asks other Tory MPs about their jobs. She said: “We’re responsible for making sure you have superfast broadband in your home-that means you can downstream your movies”.

She also said her department allows access to football pitches and “tennis pitches” so you can “exercise your sports”.

Although the original video has only received a few thousand views, it went viral and reached millions of people after an amount run by the website Joe.co.uk reposted it, drawing critical attention from the likes of Match of the Day host, Gary Lineker.
