Known for her straightforwardness, Mzbel expressed her stance during a recent interview, highlighting her belief that there is no wisdom in pursuing foreign citizenship through overseas births despite its perceived advantages.
In her candid discussion, Mzbel admitted feeling uneasy about the practice, particularly among celebrities who take pride in securing foreign passports for their offspring.
She stressed that opting to give birth abroad would convey to her children the notion that they should seek opportunities outside Ghana, which contradicts her intentions.

“Why would I stay abroad to give birth just for some opportunities when I have Ghanaian blood?” Mzbel questioned, reflecting her deep-rooted connection to her homeland.
She firmly stated that she refuses to endorse the idea that success requires leaving Ghana, despite its commonality among public figures.
Mzbel’s decision has sparked conversations online, particularly in light of recent remarks by Kofi Gabs, also known as Mr Happiness, who sparked debate by suggesting that a Dutch passport holds more value than a PhD obtained in Ghana.
These discussions underscore ongoing reflections on national identity, opportunity, and the choices individuals make in pursuit of their and their children’s futures.
