While Switzerland won their opening game against Hungary with Duah scoring the first goal, they were defeated by England in the quarter-finals. Duah shared his family’s story. His parents, originally from Ghana, moved to England for better opportunities.

“Scoring the first goal for Switzerland in the Euros was a huge moment,” Duah told the BBC. “We were all very happy.”

While born in England, Duah’s family doesn’t live there anymore. His parents’ decision to move allowed them to build a better life for themselves and their son.

Playing for Switzerland at Euro 2024 means Duah can’t play for Ghana, his parents’ home country. Duah is a striker for Ludogorets Razgrad.

Last season, he scored 15 goals and had 6 assists in all competitions. He’s even teammates with Ghanaian forward Bernard Tekpetey!
