The recent tragic boat accident in Anambra state, claiming the life of actor Jnr Pope and four crew members, has sparked deep sorrow across Nigeria.

Blessing Ebigieson, President of the Association of Movie Producer, expressed concern over the incident.

She emphasized that as a prominent figure, Jnr Pope should have taken a stand against the use of a dirty life jacket or refused to proceed with the journey.

In an interview on Arise TV, Ebigieson highlighted the importance of safety measures on set.

She emphasized that if Jnr Pope felt uncomfortable with the life jacket provided, he should have demanded a clean one or refused to go further.

Ebigieson also pointed out the responsibility of the boat rider in ensuring everyone wears life jackets.

Regarding the producer, Adanma Luke, Ebigieson defended her, noting that she is a breastfeeding mother and should not be pressured into dangerous situations.

She urged celebrities to speak up against unsafe working conditions and encouraged them to take legal action if necessary.

The tragic incident serves as a reminder of the need for stringent safety protocols in the entertainment industry, ensuring the well-being of all involved.
