Lecce, on the other hand, has avoided relegation and will remain in Serie A for the upcoming season. Salernitana, however, is set to be relegated, with two more teams yet to be determined.

The Supercoppa Italiana now features the top teams from both the Scudetto and Coppa Italia, including the second-placed teams.

Even if Juventus overtakes Milan for second place in Serie A, they have already qualified for the Supercoppa as Coppa Italia finalists. Inter, having won the Scudetto, will also compete in the Supercoppa.

Milan’s participation in the Supercoppa Italiana is financially rewarding, with semi-finalists earning a minimum of €1.6 million. The runner-up will receive €5 million, while the champion will take home €8 million.

Moreover, securing second place in Serie A could provide Milan with a greater portion of the market pool for the UEFA Champions League’s revenue distribution in the 2024/25 season.
