Following her notable performance, she caught the attention of 20th Century Fox, which led to her being signed and rechristened as Prelle. Notable among her early Hollywood roles was her portrayal of a café owner who falls for a deceitful jockey, played by John Garfield, in Jean Negulesco’s “Under My Skin” (1950). She also shared the screen with Tyrone Power in the Technicolor war drama “American Guerrilla in the Philippines” (1950) and starred in “The Adventures of Captain Fabian” (1951).
