Nigerian reality star Mercy Eke has expressed her frustration on social media about the imminent closure of Heritage Bank, stating she has over N100 million in the bank.

Recently, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) announced the revocation of Heritage Bank’s license due to its ongoing financial struggles and numerous bad loans.
Mercy Eke shared that she was aware of the bank’s issues but found it difficult to accept the reality.
She explained that during her time on Big Brother Naija, contestants were encouraged to open accounts with Heritage Bank to receive their winnings.

Trusting this advice, she deposited some of her savings there, unaware of the bank’s financial difficulties.
The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) has assured customers with less than N5 million in their accounts that they will receive their money within the next week.
However, those with larger amounts, like Mercy Eke, will have to wait until the bank’s assets are sold off to get their funds back.
