Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe, alongside several colleagues, faced criticism for publicly mourning the death of prominent television presenter, actress, and singer Lara Odubo.

Lara Odubo passed away on Saturday, July 28th, 2024. Though the cause of death is yet to be disclosed, reports indicate that she had been ill for several days before her passing.
Mercy Aigbe, who appeared to have been close to Odubo, expressed her grief on Instagram, sharing her sadness and disbelief.
In her farewell note, she wrote: Hmmmm! Life 🥲🥲🥲… Still in Denial, Adieu Omolara.”

Her husband, Kazim Adeoti, along with Bimpe Akintunde, Toyin Adewale, and Fausat Balogun, joined her in mourning in the comments.
However, some online users were displeased, pointing out that the actress and her colleagues had never shown support for the singer while she was alive.
