Fremlin was a cartographer she knew way back from their university days.

Alice Munro was a celebrated Canadian author who faced personal turmoil in her life.

She lived on a farm and later in a house in Clinton, Ontario, and co-owned a home in British Columbia with Gerald Fremlin.

Fremlin passed away in 2013. However, his legacy is marred by serious allegations. Munro’s daughter, Andrea Skinner, claims she was sexually abused by Fremlin from the age of nine.

These allegations had cast a shadow over their relationship.

Skinner alleges Munro knew about the abuse but continued living with Fremlin. In 2005, Fremlin pleaded guilty to assault charges.

These disturbing revelations have complicated the public’s view of Munro’s life and work, which often delves into the complexity of family relationships and the experiences of women.
