Kylian Mbappé will sit out France’s upcoming match at Euro 2024 due to a fractured nose sustained in their first game of the tournament against Austria, according to sources informed by ESPN.

The French Football Federation verified that the striker won’t require surgery, which would have sidelined him for the tournament. Instead, he will wear a specially crafted mask upon his comeback.
Sources informed ESPN that he will miss the next match due to injury, scheduled against Netherlands on Friday, even though Mbappé had originally hoped to be fit to play.

“There will be more tests tomorrow to see how things are developing. Obviously it was a big collision,” France coach Didier Deschamps said Tuesday. “The medical staff have done what they needed to reduce it as much as possible. This morning he was a bit better, so we will see that and we will follow it closely each day.”
France is cautious about Mbappé’s condition as he will be crucial for the remainder of the tournament. However, he might make a comeback against Poland on June 25 if his nose improves and he is needed.
