Amidu’s petition accuses Agyebeng of procurement misconduct in purchasing vehicles for the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).

He also alleges various abuses related to the judiciary and justice administration, which he believes justify Agyebeng’s impeachment.

Amidu’s accusations extend to the violation of citizens’ rights through unlawful arrests and detentions, breaches of the right to information, and inappropriate hiring practices within the OSP.

For example, Amidu mentions the arrests of Cecilia Dapaah and Prof. Frimpong Boateng as instances where Agyebeng allegedly overstepped legal boundaries.

Reports indicate that under Article 146 of the Constitution, the Chief Justice is reviewing whether there is enough evidence to form a committee to investigate Agyebeng’s potential impeachment.

This comes after President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo forwarded the petition for further examination.

Amidu also criticizes Agyebeng for allegedly violating the right to information by demanding detailed staff records, including appointment letters and salary information, on a pen drive.

Additionally, Amidu questions the legitimacy of some appointments within the OSP, suggesting they were not conducted properly.

These issues form the crux of Amidu’s call for Agyebeng’s removal from his position as Special Prosecutor.
