After completing high school at The Patrick School in Hillsdale, New Jersey, Nowell committed to play collegiate basketball at the University of Arkansas.
Following his freshman season, Nowell averaged 11.1 points, 4.2 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game.
