Mark Dodson, who was famous for voicing characters in Gremlins and Star Wars, has passed away at the age of 64. He died from a heart attack while at a Horror Con event in Indiana, according to reports. Dodson’s daughter confirmed to the media that her father had checked into his hotel before the event but suffered a heart attack while he was sleeping.

In 1983, Dodson gained recognition for his role as the voice of Salacious Crumb, a high-pitched creature in the movie Return of the Jedi. He also lent his voice to characters in Day of the Dead and the Gremlins movies, as well as various video games.

Representatives for Dodson mentioned how he brought his unique voice to every character and script he worked on.

Dodson’s daughter, Ciara, expressed her pride in her father and said that his legacy would continue through his grandchildren and herself.

Fans took to social media to pay tribute to Dodson, remembering him for his regular appearances at conventions and for his kind personality and memorable characters.

The Peter Mayhew Foundation also honored Dodson’s memory, expressing sadness at his passing.
